Location

In the picturesque Burracas, below Las Tricias in the southern municipality of Garafía lies Casa Izcavista on the steep slope of the Barranco Izcagua.
A unique view into this rugged natural barranco and to the west over the open Atlantic distinguish this fantastic location at about 600 meters above sea level.
Glued to the steep slope, the house reminds of the tiger’s nest of the Paro-Taktsang monastery in Bhutan. But don’t worry. The long terrace is well secured with a railing, but the view into nature is phenomenal.

Activities:

The location in one of the most popular excursion and hiking destinations on La Palma makes this house especially interesting for nature lovers and hikers. The place with an unobstructed view into the nature reserve of the Barranco Izcagua is a paradise for ornithologists for bird watching. From the house it is very close to the windmill of Burracas / Las Tricias with the Gofio Museum very informative about the history and customs of La Palma. Also the famous dragon trees and caves of Burracas are just a short walk away. Access to the sea with swimming possibilities can be found nearby at Puerto de Lomada Grande, Playa Callejoncitos or Puerto de Puntagorda. On the other side of the barranco is the Mercadillo of Puntagorda, popular meeting place of the islanders and vacation guests on weekends. Astro lovers will also find here an ideal point of view, since the remote area has hardly any stray light.

the old canarian house has been completely renovated in modern style, keeping the eIgenities of the canarian architecture. Large windows with double glazing provide a bright atmosphere in the house. Modern and comfortable furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV and fast WiFi are a matter of course. There is a small living room, large living-dining kitchen, bathroom and a large bedroom with double bed 200 x 160 cm. Heating – if necessary – is provided by underfloor heating throughout the house.
