Completely quiet and isolated mansion in the untouched nature in the northwest of La Palma (Canary Islands)

Location

Casa Las Lanas is located in the northwest of La Palma below Llano Negro, Garafía, in idyllic and quiet solitary location at about 790 m above sea level in a large finca of several hectares in a scenic, natural environment. From the house, the patio with semi-enclosed barbecue area and sitting or sunbathing area you have free panoramic views over the beautiful nature, the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains. In the nearby rustic village of Llano Negro, which can also be reached on foot, there is a supermarket and bar. Nearby is also the San Antonio Sanctuary with its church, where the annual “Feria de San Antonio” attracts visitors from all over the island to view the animals on display and the procession of Saint San Antonio blessing the animals, socialize and spend a unique weekend. The archaeological museum with a circular walkway with Guanche rock engravings “La Zarza” is also very close. The surrounding area invites you to hikes and walks in a uniquely beautiful environment. The location is strategically favorable, one comes quickly to the Roque de los Muchachos (observatory and crater rim in 2426m height), as well as to the bypass of the island both to the east in the direction of Barlovento, Los Sauces, Santa Cruz de La Palma, as well as to the south in the direction of Puntagorda, Tijarafe, Los Llanos or to the west to Santo Domingo and the sea. Due to its remote location, the finca is also ideal for hobby astronomers to observe the stars.

House and equipment

Casa Las Lanas is an old, renovated mansion with about 140 square meters of living space, on a plot of about 15 000 square meters, in typical Canarian style with thick walls, window seats and open Canarian roofs. It has been renovated and equipped according to the quality standards of “Turismo Rural”. There are two double bedrooms with good double beds. There is a sofa bed in the entrance room. The 2 comfortable couches in the living room can also serve as a sleeping place. The large living room has comfortable upholstered furniture as well as satellite TV, small music system, a piano and a desk. Unfortunately, the fireplace can not be used. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, bidet and sink, there is also a separate toilet with washing facilities. The kitchen is completely and very stylishly furnished. Heating and cooling is provided by modern combined air-conditioning-heating units in the bedroom, living room, hallway and kitchen. On the terrace there is high quality wooden garden furniture for sitting and lounging. The traditional barbecue room is semi-open and accessible from the terrace. Overall, the house is very stylish and high quality furnishings. And there is also a 4G WiFi router for up to 5 devices (laptop, tablet, smartphone..).

Also this house, the place and the surroundings take you back to old times of La Palma, when life was still very close to nature. Nevertheless, there is a lot of comfort and coziness.
